1980, Wedding, Delaware through a Continental TXL - a Chapbook
Another used camera purchase arrived with film and here are the pix. These appear to be from the early 1980s, featuring the daily life of a family, and what must be a wedding ceremony - although I can’t explain the appearance of . . . god? Moses? Speculate as you enjoy flipping through these 26 snapshots.
The camera used to take these picture was a Continental TXL, a clone of the somewhat more sturdy Fujica ST-F, a Chinese manufactured brand from the 1970s. Both - and several other knockoffs - have been popularly adopted by toy camera fans and nicknamed the Hipstermatic. It also has a feature unique among the more widely known Dianas and Holgas, the TXL has a manual focus!
I’m still getting used to mine, hand focus with glasses is always a tricky issue. The samples below are some lucky shots - the two black & white pix were exposed on expired film that had suffered some sort of other damage resulting in a leaf-like pattern over the images.
